What are Vedas?

Vedas are the oldest knowledge of the world, written in early Sanskrit and contain hymns, philosophy, and guidance on living a happy fulfilled life. It’s one thing to know the Vedas, it’s quite another to live it.  Vedic lifestyle is a lifestyle of cosmopolitan values, uniting all known achievement of human civilization. Based on the principals of the Vedas, the main value is the inner joy and peace one can experience.

Vedic lifestyle is conscious living resulting in continuous expansion of the Self. Vedic culture enables each person to reveal his inner Spiritual world, his human potential, to develop morally and technologically for the sake of overall progress of mankind and helps to form the right values. Vedic culture is the path of enlightenment.

The most striking results of living a Vedic lifestyle is the great freedom that one gets from sense of responsibility and duty, personal empowerment, tolerance and acceptance of all. The lifestyle is unique for each individual according to his/her strengths, tendencies and talents; all life is valued, each individual is valued and has something unique to contribute for the good of mankind.

Vedic culture was once widespread throughout our planet affecting all spheres of human life. Vedas contain information literally about everything. From farming to establishing harmonious relationships; from maintaining a healthy body to attaining Moksha (liberation); from the knowledge of the structure of the cosmos to high technology of antiquity. The wisdom and knowledge contained in Vedas is beyond modern Science.

Why Study Vedas?

Studying the Vedas helps us in finding an answer to one of our main questions “what is the meaning of a person’s life”. This knowledge aims to bring a person’s consciousness to an understanding of their destiny and to reveal the true meaning of life. Following the Vedic lifestyle is a way to happiness and longevity and is based on the Principle that our entire life should lead to the development and preservation of all life.

Vedic culture has its own practice of healing and maintaining health: Yoga, Tai chi. Practices of spiritual development: Meditation. Medicine: Ayurveda, literature and language.

Our times of confusion, high conflict, greed, disease and stress are in a dire need of this knowledge and this life style.  Living the teachings is the highest Vedas. We can all take a step towards a Vedic lifestyle.

I just attended the first step in her Simple Steps program and I am so glad I did.  The seminar was excellent!  Everything she said was right to the point and hit the core of the issues.  The program was very interactive and all the participants were engaged in the learning.
